Anyone ever had hair extensions?

I've only had a weave lol

But from what i've seen and heard, they can get ratty, tangle your hair, and if you want it to look real natural its going to cost$$.

But the pros are; you can put your hair into a ponytail(the individuals),it looks very real(with the right hair dresser). And you'll be happy..and if a person ask "Is that your hair?" You say YES(because you brought it lol)

marm212 is WRONG they do both rather you are black or not! They also do the individuals!

Anyone ever had hair extensions?

a friend of mine had them

it cost 1000$.

Anyone ever had hair extensions?

Yes I did get hair extensions once, but I went to a hair salon for black women (not trying to be racist here) and which many said was a mistake because they do hair extensions very differently. If you are black, all the barber will do is braid your hair and sew the extension to the root of each braid with a weft. It may hurt a little depending on how tight she decides to put it. If you are not black, the barber will section off your hair and usually glue the weft to the root area. The cost of extensions varies on your particular hair, but I warn you, it will not be cheap! There really is no way to maintain them other than to just treat the fake hair with a little extra TLC because it is more delicate. With glue ons they may actually fall out on their own which is why sew ins are much better because they wont come out until you want them out. The pros are how fabulous you will look, the cons are the expense and the fact that you shouldnt do it too often because it can damage your scalp. Hope this helps

Anyone ever had hair extensions?

Well. It totally depends on hold old you are.

These are some Cons:

If you are younger like under 25, it might be a good idea to wear fake extentions, because extentions could ruin your hair!! So heres a website if you would like to do fake ones!

i have them and i love them. i have been wearing them for over a year. mine are sew in though. you will have to research the salons in your area for a price. find a salon will do a consultation with you prior to making your appointment. so that you can ask questions about the process and pricing. they will advise you of what type of hair to get, remi, non-remi. remi is hair with the cuticle intact. some salons even supply the hair for you. you take care of extensions like you take care of your own hair. i did a lot of research on www.hairextensions101.com. they have a forum that you can research and ask questions regarding extensions/salons. its truly a gold mine of info. hth

-Extensions are great if you want longer hair. but I can't stand wearing someone else's hair on my head so i dont wear them.

-The human hair ones cost around 80-150 dollars. depending on length

-You can dye the human hair extensions, which is neat cuz then you dont have to dye your real hair and get it all damaged,

-Extensions can rip out some of your real hair

-Extensions can be hassle to put on if you're going by the glue-method

-Clip-on extensions are easy and you can take them out and put them back on any time.

-To maintain them, you just wash them regularly like your real hair.

-The best place to buy them are at Sally's. But you can also get them at most beauty supply shops.

Anyone ever had hair extensions?

you can get clip on exentions and they arnt as expensive, they still work really good and if you dont want them one day you can take them out!! and they look SO real ! :) good luck ..

Anyone ever had hair extensions?

I have had them several times before.

They have different types, ranging from the type that you glue in, the type that you sew in, and then there are the kind that you clip in. Be aware that extensions can damage and break off your hair, so if you have healthy hair I would recommend not even getting them. Make sure that you get human hair because it will last longer. When it is time to take them out, have a professional do it, because you may pull your hair out.

It can get expensive, depending on what kind you get or where you go, ranging anywhere from $75- a couple of hundred.

Anyone ever had hair extensions?

I haven't had them, but, did allot of research on them ( b/c I was thinking about geting them).

First of all, marm212 is totally confusing getting a weave %26amp; getting extentions. Anyone (regardless of your race) can get either. Weaving is when they braid your hair %26amp; sew the "new" hair onto the braids. Extentions are when they just take the "new" hair %26amp; bond/glue it to your existing hair.

From what I have gathered, it costs about $1-$2 a strand to put in/labor cost (%26amp;, most people need a few hundres strands), plus the cost of the hair itself, %26amp; sometimes some extra fees (depending on the salon).

Also, with maintaining them, you need to go back to the salon every month or two to have any of the fallen hairs removed. Remember, every day a person loses about 100 hairs, so, since they are all bonded into the xtention, even whne they dislodge from your scalp, they stay in the bundle %26amp; can create horrible tangles. Also, if you don't get these "loose hairs" removed, when you go to get them taken out, it will take forever %26amp; will also cost you more $$ (b/c it will take them more time) %26amp;, also, depending on how bad they tangle, it could rip your hair, so, basically, it's advisable to go back for the maintaince %26amp; have the loose hairs removed almost montly.
