Despite hair extensions being used for valid reasons such as hair loss etc. The rest who do use them is it because of vanity or false perception.....? Are you living a lie just to fit in?

I think women use hair extensions to make their hair look better. I believe that's the only Logic reason. All that other stuff you are talking about. It's not that "deep". Women like to look good. If you want to enhance your look by all means I say go for it.

Some women wear hair extensions to try out new styles without doing anything permanent to their hair. Like, dyes, fake dred locks, etc. I was one of those women.

I don't use hair extension but my bf does, and she just likes to look different any now and then, I think there's nothing wrong on using hair extensions. Is like when ppl want to change the color of they hair, they just want to look different

Vanity, necessity for some... For others its just for a little change. I , myself hate extensions and won't wear them because I know how damaging to the hair they can be. I do wear a wig sometimes though because I like short hair, my hair is getting really long and I will not cut it ever again.

No one is living a lie when they wear a weave, everyone knows its fake, and most times its just for fun.

I found they helped my hair grow quicker... and I didnt have to comb hair every morning (10 minutes lost)...

with extensions, i just run my fingers through it and go...

Well, when I was transitioning, I wore weaves and braids as a way of growing my relaxed hair out. And my hair grew out so fast, by the time I decided to chop off the relaxed hair, my natural hair was to my shoulders. I also liked the versatility, and the fact that it took me 2 hours max. to put the hair in, and I could go for a month or more like that, with little maintenance.
